UK Photovoltaic
Solar Energy Industry Road Mapping Event
18th - 19th November 2008
Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus, Warrington

On the 18th and 19th November 2008, the Photonics KTN and CSER (Centre for Solar Energy Research) held a workshop to explore the needs, drivers and future expectations of the PV Solar Energy industry within the UK.
During the last decade Europe has seen a massive growth within the renewable energy sector from both industry and domestic markets. The realisation that ‘green’ options are potentially viable has stimulated some interest and investment in the UK but not nearly as much as in our neighbouring countries.
In order to be able to compete in this expanding global market, the UK must explore and examine the opportunities available to it and take itself forward as a strong and capable contender.
The UK PV Solar Energy Road Map will be an important tool in enabling a vision for the sector, including the supply chain in its entirety, whilst also addressing key issues such as incentives, training, public awareness and education.
For the Road Map to be successful the PV Solar Energy industry within the UK must take a leading role.
The event took place at Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus, Warrington, Cheshire, and was host to 50 key players from across the UK PV sector.
The road map will be made available in the New Year. In the meatime,
