Technium OpTIC (Opto-electronics Technology and Incubation Centre)

Opto-electronics is an innovative and enabling combination of optical and electronics technology.  This technology is evident in a range of commercial and domestic products including fibre optic communications, DVD/CD optical storage, phone and computer displays, laser printers and scanners, video and digital cameras and lasers used for a host of applications such as detection, cutting, welding and coding.

OpTIC (Opto-electronics Technology and Incubation Centre), is part of the Technium Network in Wales, and an exciting new facility dedicated to the global opto-electronics industry.  The aim of OpTIC is to grow businesses in opto-electronics and related technologies.  OpTIC can support up to 24 young technology businesses in units of up to 150 sq m.  In support of this OpTIC has a co-located Technology Centre with state of the art clean room facilities for use by tenants and is also home to a number near market technology groups.  A Business Centre complements what OpTIC has to offer and a full range of support is available from mentoring programmes, through funding, intellectual property protection and marketing to a conference centre and restaurant.  This is a location for start-up businesses that has all the necessary ingredients in one location to give young companies the best possible start and route to long term success.
